Fairy Spring
This is truly a magical place. The stream has carved itself through the dramatic dunes and meanders through a fantastic landscape. The result is a spectacular array of Reds, Whites, Pinks and Oranges. A beautiful place to see local flora and fauna, this from Shades a 5 min drive down the road.
Mui Ne Fishing Village:
Essentially a congregation of fishing boats, the location of this fishing village differs according to the season and winds. Here you can see the small baskets filled with fresh seafood being brought to shore from the larger fishing boats which are harboured out at sea. The earlier the better!! Try and be there for 7am to get the best view!!
The Red and White Sand Dunes
Trudging up the Red Sand dunes is a true experience and the views of the ocean are to die for. Children with plastic slides are everywhere and tourists say they could be in the desert in Africa or the Middle East! The White Sand dunes show a dramatic contrast of the white sands
plunging toward a lake filled with lotuses. It is a spectacular view as it is not what you would expect
Dragon Fruit Farms
Binh Thuan Province is synonym nous with dragon fruit. Roads are lined with the beautiful fruit and many tours will stop for visitors to take a closer look. Farmers shine light on the dragon fruit at night for optimum growing conditions but not sure how the neighbours feel about that!!
Ke Ga Lighthouse
This remnant of French Colonial colonialism was the Country’s first-ever light house 1899. Surrounded by stunning scenery the lighthouse is perched on an islet 35kms south of Phan Thiet. Ask our reception about getting a driver to take you out, have lunch at the authentic Vietnamese restautant and get the locals to whizz you across in one of their basket boats. Best time to visit is approx. 5pm for the sun set over the sea .
Ta Cu Mountain is the resting place for the Reclining Budha. He is 49 metres in length, the largest in Vietnam and a worth while day trip. It will take you approx. 2 hours to drive the 30kms to Ta Cu Mountain where you will find a gondola ride to take you ¾ of the way up the hill. The remaining few hundred steps are not as bad as you think and you will be pleasantly surprised to see the Reclining Budha in all his glory. Definitely worth the trip if you enjoy being out in the ‘jungle’.
